Jinan's GDP more than Doubles during Last Decade

Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province made great progress in economic and social development over past decade, local media reported.

According to Jinan statistics bureau, the city's GDP surged from 532.8 billion yuan ($75.54 billion) in 2012 to 1.14 trillion yuan in 2021 and the general public budget revenue increased from 38.082 billion yuan to 100.761 billion yuan in the 2012-21 period.

Consumer market saw a booming performance during past 10 years. The total retail sales of consumer goods increased from 232.36 billion yuan in 2012 to 512.61 billion yuan in 2021, with an average annual growth rate of 9.2 percent.

People's living standards have been improving in great extent. The city's per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents reached 57,449 yuan and 22,580 yuan in 2021 respectively, 24,879 yuan and 12,086 yuan higher than in 2012. In 2021, the Engel coefficient of urban and rural residents in the city stood at 23.5 percent and 30.5 percent, respectively.

The city's foreign trade surged over past 10 years. In 2021, imports and exports totaled $30.3 billion, 2.7 times that of 2012, with an average annual growth rate is 11.5 percent. Exports of mechanical and electrical products reached 72.76 billion yuan, 2.6 times more than that in 2012.
