Licheng district, Jinan witnessed great progress in economic growth over past 10 years, said Zhang Jun, Party secretary of the Licheng district at a news conference on Sept 1.

The district's GDP increased by more than 50 billion yuan ($7.05 billion) in the last 10 years from 63.4 billion yuan to 116.6 billion yuan, moving up from 30th to top 10th among province's county economic ranking.

The local public budget revenue increased from 2.8 billion yuan to 12.4 billion yuan, quadrupling in ten years and surpassing the 10-billion-yuan mark for three consecutive years. The total amount has jumped to the fifth place in the province.

The annual growth rate of fixed asset investment exceeded 20 percent over past 10 years, and the total investment reached 637 billion yuan, ranking first in the city. During the period, the number of permanent residents in the district increased by 41 percent to 1.13 million yuan.

Licheng has been included in China's top 100 countries or districts in comprehensive strength for eight consecutive years. Over past decade, Licheng has transformed from a "former suburb" into a district with strong comprehensive strength and is striding forward on the road of high-quality development.
