The first South Korea (Shandong) Imported Goods Expo, which is being held by the Shandong Department of Commerce and the Weihai Municipal Government, will take place from September 10th to 12th in Weihai, East China's Shandong province.

With 600 booths spanning an exhibition area of 20,000 square meters, the expo will set up six exhibitions for sectors like food, cosmetics, fashion, and sports.

Representatives from South Korean regions like Incheon, Busan, and South Gyeongsang province, as well as a number of business associations have confirmed their participation in the event, said Zhang Xipeng, a Deputy Director at the Commerce Bureau of Weihai.

During the expo, seven sideline events, including a forum on cooperation in the robotics industry, a forum about the innovative development of trade in services, a food culture festival, and the third South-Korean Cross-border E-commerce Conference, will also be held.

According to an official of the city's comprehensive bonded area, Weihai leads the country in terms of the development of cross-border e-commerce with South Korea. The foreign trade volume through cross-border e-commerce between Weihai and South Korea accounts for 14.6 percent of the nation's total, the official added.

South Korea has become Weihai's largest market. The foreign trade volume handled by the Port of Weihai ranked third in China over the course of last year.
