The “Connecting Shandong with Fortune Global 500” Event-the Europe Session Opens

The “Connecting Shandong with Fortune Global 500” event-the Europe Session opened on August 27th. 

The event is hosted by the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and Shandong Provincial People’s Government and organized by Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce, aiming to boost cooperation between Shandong and Fortune Global 500 companies.  

A number of business tycoons gathered in the Europe Session, such as Ivan Glasenberg, CEO of Glencore Group, Jan Rinnert, CEO of Heraeus Group, Fabrice Fourcade, vice president of EDF Group, and Sanjiv Lamba, CEO of Asia Pacific Linde Plc.

Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and Governor Li Ganjie expressed welcome and gratitude to the guests who participated in the event and talked online with the leaders of the Fortune Global 500 companies.

According to Li, under the new situation, Shandong enjoys the advantages of strategic platform, complete industrial system, accelerated conversion of the replacement of old grow drivers with new ones, policy dividends, market potential, and development environment, which contain broad open space and cooperation potential. We will unswervingly expand opening up, optimize the business environment, firmly strengthen foreign-funded enterprises and project services, and deepen practical cooperation with Fortune 500 companies in a deeper, broader field and higher level to embrace mutual benefit and common development. We are willing to move forward hand in hand with all entrepreneurs to jointly promote the implementation of various consensuses, and strive to achieve early results and more results.

Foreign guests in the connection spoke highly of the achievements in Shandong’s epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development, fully affirmed Shandong’s good business environment, introduced the development situation in Shandong and the next investment cooperation plan, and expressed that they will invest in new energy and new materials, trade, environmental protection, science and technology and other fields to further deepen cooperation with Shandong, and strive to achieve more cooperation results.

Fabrice Fourcade, vice president of EDF Group, said at the conference that Shandong is one of the main provinces that EDF Group is seeking cooperation with. As an international leader in the field of renewable energy, EDF Group hopes to have more opportunities to use its expertise and rich experiences to support sustainable development and reduce air pollution in Shandong province.

A total of 10 major foreign projects with a total investment of $797 million were signed at the online conference.

There are five sessions in this event. In addition to the European one, the sessions for ASEAN, the United States, South Korea and Japan will be held on September 22nd, September 29th, October 22nd, and October 27th respectively.
