Positive Results Achieved in the “Belt and Road” Economic and Trade Cooperation in Shandong Province

From January to August, Shandong province has pragmatically promoted economic and trade cooperation with countries along the “Belt and Road” initiative and has achieved positive results.

First, trade cooperation grows steadily with countries along the route. The import and export of foreign trade with countries along the route reached 403.06 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.5%, accounting for 30.2% of the province’s total. Among them, exports were 227.19 billion yuan, an increase of 12.4%, accounting for 30% of the province’s total.

Second, investment cooperation with countries along the route advances smoothly. The actual investment in the countries along the “Belt and Road” initiative was 12.44 billion yuan, an increase of 89.8%, accounting for 30.1% of the province’s total. Among them, the actual investment in capacity cooperation was 4.74 billion yuan, an increase of 39%, accounting for 38.1% of the investment in countries along the route.

Third, infrastructure cooperation with countries along the route carries forward continuously. The completed turnover of contracted projects in countries along the route was 20.32 billion yuan, accounting for 54.5% of the province’s total. 73 new large-scale projects valued over 10 million US dollars were signed.
