The 8th Shandong International Cultural Industries Fair kicked off on Sept. 19th at the Shandong International Convention and Exhibition Center, to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China with achievements in the culture sector. Gong Zheng, Deputy Secretary of Shandong Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Shandong Province, Guan Zhiou, Member of the Standing Committee of Shandong Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Publicity Department, and other officials visited the exhibition area.

The five-day event is themed with “Magnificent Seventy Years, Prosperous Cultural Industries Fair” and features an exhibition area of 103,000 square meters, with more than 5,000 international-standard stalls and 2,701 exhibitors.

The fair consists of one area specifically for business match-making and trade promotion activities and another nine exhibition areas covering creative design, calligraphy and paintings, fine arts and crafts and new media business. More than 20 leading cultural technology enterprises, including Huawei, Tencent and Gooest Tech as well as 14 new media groups including the Twitter-like Sina Weibo Sina and Bytedance, have gathered at the fair to showcase their latest technologies and products in the cultural field. Deputy Director Lyu Wei of the Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce attended the event.

As the participating unit of the fair, Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce organized over 20 enterprises to attend the event from national cultural export bases and national and provincial key cultural exports, exhibiting modern and emerging cultures such as animation books and architectural design, traditional cultures such as Lu embroidery and traditional Chinese medicine, distinctive ceramic and color glazed crafts from Boshan National Culture Export Base and others. The fair fully demonstrates the staged achievements of Qilu culture to the world through exhibits, video publicity and interactive experience.
