Shandong's first high-speed loop train departed from Jinanxi Railway Station on Nov 24 and returned to the station after traveling through eight cities in the province.

After the opening of the Rizhao-Qufu railway, a section of the Rizhou-Lankao line, the high-speed rail in Shandong province forms a complete loop.

Eight high-speed trains will run on the loop line every day, making it possible for passengers to travel around the entirety of the province by high-speed rail.

The high-speed loop line links Shandong's eight cities – Jinan, Taian, Qufu, Linyi, Rizhou, Qingdao, Weifang and Zibo and entire journey will take six hours to complete.
