Yantai Spandex Co., Ltd was established in 1993 by Yantai Spandex Manufacturing Factory, which was the first enterprise in China to produce high-tech specialty fiber. The name of the company was changed into Yantai Tayho Advanced Materials Co., Ltd. in 2011, ranking one of the top 20 leading enterprises in Yantai as the vice president company in Chinese chemical fiber industry. Tayho’s A-share stock (002254) was listed on Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2008.

Tayho is the largest production base of the development of high and new technological fibers in China, and it holds the shares of Yantai Yuxiang Chemical Co., Ltd. and Yantai Metastar Special Paper Co., Ltd., producing 5 main series of products, including spandex, meta-aramid, para-aramid, meta-aramid paper and aramid raw material. The annual production capacity of the main products reaches up to the following: 34000 tons of spandex, as the 3rd of the domestic enterprises; 5600 tons of meta-aramid, as the 2nd worldwide; 1000 tons of para-aramid, as the 5th worldwide; 500 tons of meta-aramid paper, as the 2nd worldwide. Newstar® Spandex, Tametar® Meta-aramid and Taparan® Para-aramid all have OK 100 certificates. Metastar® Meta-aramid Paper passed the UL authentication. And meta-aramid staple fiber is rated as the key new product and innovative product.

Tayho has a state-level Tech Center and a Shandong Meta-aramid Engineering Research Center, as one of the Key national Torch Plan high-tech enterprises and the key laboratory of Meta-aramid in Shandong Province, filling 4 gaps in domestic technology, winning the 2nd class prize of the National Science and Technology Progress twice, assuming 2 terms of National Science and Technology Project Plan and 2 terms of 863 Projects.
