Weifang High-Tech Industry
Development Zone
Weifang High-Tech Industry Development Zone
is a state-level high-tech development zone approved by the State Council in
1992. It is located in the center of Weifang City, covering an area of 129
square kilometers with a population of 250,000.
After almost twenty years’ development, the
development zone has developed four high-tech industrial clusters, including
IT, modern equipment manufacturing, bio-medicine and new materials. It has
become an important platform for the city to carry out international science
and technologic exchanges as well economic cooperation, and was listed by the
Ministry of Science and Technology as one of the top five most innovative
high-tech development zones in China.
In recent years, by focusing on the
development of three emerging industries, including electronic acoustic
components, semi-conductor lighting, and software and information service, the
development zone has successfully established a variety of province-level
industrial parks or industrial bases, such as Electronic Acoustic Component
Park, Optoelectronic Park, Software Park, Bio-Medicine Park, Information
Service Base and Information Service Concentration Area.
Weifang Binhai Economic and
Technological Development Zone
The development zone was established in
August 1995, and was approved by the State Council as a state-level economic
and technological development zone in April 2010. Covering an area of 677
square kilometers with a population of 100,000, it is located in the central
area in the northern coastal region of Weifang, and has been designated as
National Innovation Base for Revitalizing Trade with Science and Technology,
National Model Zone for the Development of Marine Economy with Science and Technology,
National Biological Industry Demonstration Park and Shandong Scientific
Development Park and Recycling Economy Demonstration Park.
In recent years, by seizing the historical
opportunities brought about by the development of Rim-Bohai area, Yellow River
Delta as well as Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Area, the development zone
has been making great efforts to foster six major high-efficiency biological
industrial clusters, including equipment manufacturing, petrochemical industry,
portside logistics, new energy and high-end service industry. A number of
Fortune 500 and world famous companies have made investment in the development
zone, including CNOOC, Sime Darby, Weichai Power, China Huaneng and Israel
Chemical.
Weifang Comprehensive Bonded
Area
Weifang Comprehensive Bonded Area was
established on Jan. 25, 2011 on the approval of the State Council and became
the 14th comprehensive bonded area in China. It covers an area of
18.43 square kilometers, including 5.17 square kilometers of land inside the
separation net, which will be used for the development of bonded logistics and
processing industries, and 7.2 square kilometers of land outside the net, which
will be used to set up various industrial parks for supporting projects highly
related to the bonded business inside the separation net.
The establishment of Weifang Comprehensive
Bonded Area has built up a remarkable international platform for the opening up
of Weifang and Shandong, and will be a strong booster for the development of
Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Area, Yellow River Delta High-Efficiency
Bio-Economic Area and the Rim-Bohai Economic Circle. It has not only improved
the urban economic services in Weifang, but also consolidated or extended the
functions of neighboring airports and seaports in Qingdao, Yantai, Rizhao,
Weihai and Weifang, providing bonded services for the development of the
hinterland in western Shandong Province, and playing an important role in
linking the coastal and western hinterland economically in Shandong Province.
